New appointments for ABC children’s TV

Appointments, Television

ABCABC has announced two key staff to its children’s TV department.

Barbara Uecker has been appointed Head of Programming and Acquisitions (Children’s TV) effective 1 April, and Carla de Jong has been appointed Commissioning and Development Editor (Children’s TV) effective 10 March.

Ms Uecker comes to ABC after helping to establish the German national children’s channel KI.KA and has worked for affiliates of the German network ARD in the production of programming aimed at children, teenagers and family audiences.

Ms de Jong is an Australian who has spent the last two years working for BBC’s children’s outlets CBBC and CBeebies, and locally has also produced children’s programs for the Ten Network including Totally Wild and SCOPE.
